Damage research

Damage research is a term from the insurance field. Damage research aims to determine the causes of damage, to record them systematically and to use this knowledge in damage prevention . In a narrower sense, the term damage research refers to damage to property . In connection with personal injury, however, the term accident research is used. This is the basis for accident prevention .

The public insurers are particularly obliged by their statutes to prevent and research losses. They therefore jointly maintain the Institute for Loss Prevention and Loss Research e. V. (IFS) and publish the magazine for loss prevention and loss research schadenprisma .
