Schadenprisma is a magazine for damage prevention and damage research for public insurers in Germany, which is published by the Association of Public Insurers . The forerunner of the damage prism was the bulletin "Fire prevention - fire fighting", which was published since 1951 by the Berlin fire law firm together with the Berlin fire brigade. In addition to the previous publishers, all public insurers have supported the magazine since 1972. Today the Association of Public Insurers is the sole publisher. The print run is around 15,000 copies with a quarterly publication. There is also an online edition. Since the knowledge about loss prevention is to be disseminated as widely as possible and is viewed as non-profit, access to Schadenprisma.de is free of charge. The archive containing all issues since 1993 is also on this website. The archive can be searched online for specific issues, topics or search terms. The Institute for Loss Prevention and Loss Research of the Public Insurers eV (IFS) uses the magazine as a medium to disseminate its work results.
