The Schadsche Foundation is a foundation in Frankfurt am Main under the umbrella of the Alten Limpurg Society .

The Schad Foundation goes back to the legacy of the Frankfurt patrician Anna Sybilla Schad von Mittelbiberach . On her death in 1737, as the last member of the wealthy Schad family, she bequeathed her fortune to a foundation that was supposed to promote the training and study of young members of the Alten Limpurg Society. Members of the society were also appointed as administrators of the foundation.

The most important property and thus the main source of income to this day is the listed house Zum Paradies and Grimmvogel on Liebfrauenberg 39 in Frankfurt's old town. In the 1930s, the foundation took on the remaining assets of the von Humbracht and von Glauburg Foundation , which were also part of the Alten Limpurg Society, and which had largely been lost in the inflation of 1923 .

Today the foundation mainly supports young people whose income is below the level of social assistance . In addition, social institutions are funded, including the Frankfurt Facility for the Blind .
