Schaduwprijs
Since 1997, the Schaduwprijs has been awarded annually in June, the Dutch “Month of Exciting Books”, to the best debut work by a local crime writer by the Association of Dutch crime authors (Genootschap van Nederlandstalige Misdaadauteurs) (GNM). In 2019, the GNM joins the Dutch Authors Association (Auteursbond) as a section. [outdated]
The winner of the Schaduwprij receives prize money of € 2,000 (€ 1,000 until 2017) and, since 2013, a screen print by the Dutch artist Daan Jippes (between 1997 and 2012 by Dick Bruna ). Short stories are exempted from an award, it will only crime novels considered.
