The sheep rescuer or incident bar is a veterinary instrument and is used for the prophylaxis of vaginal prolapse in sheep .

purpose

If childbirth is imminent, the weak tissue can lead to a complete vaginal prolapse. A rectal prolapse can also occur. The sheep saver has the shape of a hanger, is inserted into the sheath of the sheep and attached to the fur at the temple ends with strings . This prevents a relapse , such as B. in connective tissue weakness or through excessive pressure when pressing during childbirth. A weak connective tissue is usually a hereditary predisposition, but it can also have resulted from a previous difficult birth. The sheep saver is only used in lighter cases.
