Schallmauer records

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Schallmauer-Records was a record label from Neuss , which between 1980 and 1983 published not only samplers but mainly albums by local bands.

The label was founded in 1980 by Lothar Surey and Eckhard Rieger. They first published the sampler Schallmauer-Sampler , on which six bands previously only known regionally were represented. The sampler sold well and albums by KFC and Xao Seffcheque were produced in the same year . When the band Nothing became known nationwide with their single radio , WEA Records tried to get the artists under contract. Schallmauer-Records reached an agreement with WEA, according to which the label continued to produce the records, but the distribution was organized through WEA. When nothing broke up in 1983, Schallmauer Records also came to an end.
