Detail of a formwork lock with a wedge

An assembly lock is a steel connecting element that is used to join frame formwork in a force-locking manner and without any offset. It consists of two clamping jaws that are fixed with a screw or a wedge. Because of its functioning, the connecting element is also Panel clamp , wedge clamps , alignment coupler or quick release called.

Formwork locks have the advantage over grid-bound bolt connections that they can be attached steplessly and that there is no need to align the frame formwork elements in terms of height to one another. The prerequisite is, however, that the frame profiles to be connected each have a bead as a starting point for the clamping jaws.
