Scraper (tool)

Scraper for removing dirt, snow and ice

A dredge also scrapers called, is a tool for separating of fixed material from the substrate. It is made from a rigid sheet of steel or flexible sheet of steel attached to a stem. In some dialects it is also called Schore or Schorrer.

Types of scratching

  • Construction rake: for removing earth and other soiling on construction sites or in the event of contamination by agricultural equipment - mostly made of sheet steel, for reasons of stability often with reinforcing ribs, identical in construction
  • Ice or snow scraper: for removing stuck ice and snow
  • Pitch, resin or wooden scraper: to scratch the resin from the trees
  • Plow Scraper: a small sharp iron on a long stems, so that the earth of the ploughshare repel
  • Soot scraper: for the chimney sweep to remove soot
  • Scraper: for removing wallpaper , glued carpeting or the like; is sometimes also used on ice and snow or, for example, to remove concrete residues from formwork panels - with a thin, straight steel blade

The electrical device used to remove carpets is called a carpet stripper .
