Sheikdom Alawi
The Sheikdom Alawi ( Arabic مشيخة العلوي Maschyakhat al-ʿAlawī ) was a state within the South Arab Federation after briefly belonging to the Federation of the United Arab Emirates of the South .
history
It was originally one of the nine cantons (Sultanate of Lahej, Emirate of Dhala, Sheikdom Aqrabi , Lower Aulaqi, Sultanate of Fadhli, Haushebi, Subeihi Lower Yafa) that signed the Protection Treaty with the United Kingdom in the late 19th century . The sheikdom was a small landlocked country between Dhala (in the north) and Haushebi (in the south). Its capital was Al Qasha . His last sheikh was Salih ibn Sayil Al Alawi. This was ousted and his sheikdom was incorporated into the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen in 1967 . The area is now part of the Republic of Yemen .
