The apex pond or border pond (Czech: Pomezní rybník ) is an artificially created reservoir directly on the border between Germany and the Czech Republic in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge , two kilometers east of the Schirnding market , directly at the border crossing. The state border runs through the middle of the pond, so that about half of the reservoir water belongs to Germany and the Czech Republic. The pond is fed by the Grenzbach , which was previously called Raitschenbach and Reitschenbach. The stream is a right side stream of the Röslau , which flows into the Eger .
Surname
The name of the pond makes it clear that in terms of land, the reservoir is divided in the middle by the boundary line, as if by a vertex.
natural reserve
The top pond has been designated as a nature reserve Pomezní rybník on the Czech area since 1990 . Information signs in Czech and German are set up. Marsh calla ( Calla palustris ) and the round-leaved sundew ( Drosera rotundifolia ) as well as nine rare dragonfly species and the crested newt are found there.
