The Schiderti ( Kazakh Шідерті өзеңі ; Russian Шидерты́ Schiderty ; also Sarapan , in the lower Karasu ) is an endorheic river in Kazakhstan .
The river has its source in the central area of the Kazakh threshold . From there it flows in a northerly direction. It is dammed several times. The river usually flows into Lake Shaganak . Its water only reaches Lake Shalauli, which has no outflow, in the Aktogai district ( Pavlodar region ) during floods . The Schiderti has a length of 506 km. Its catchment area covers 15,900 km². The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . It usually leads to high water between mid-April and early June . In the months of April and May the mean discharges are 13.5 m³ / s and 6 m³ / s respectively. The upper and lower reaches often run dry. The Irtysch-Qaraghandy channel flows thanks to several pumping stations of the river valley and a plurality of reservoirs along the river of Shiderti River in the opposite direction.
