Shield of loyalty

Shield of Loyalty (Spanish: Escudo de fidelidad ) was an award donated by the Spanish King Ferdinand VII . Foundation day was December 14, 1823.

The purpose of the award was to honor people for demonstrated loyalty and steadfastness during the Trienio Liberal from 1820 to 1823. Here, leaving home played a role, defending religion and defending the state. Civil and military persons could be honored with a high level of bravery and special loyalty to the ruler.

By decree on January 24th, 1824, the testimony of grace was revoked.

Order decoration

The order decoration was available in two versions. For non-commissioned officers , everything was made of silk with an embroidered slogan "El Rey a la fidelidad", meaning "loyalty to the king". For soldiers this decoration was made of wool.

The award was worn on the left.
