Schiller monument behind the Hessian State Theater

The Schiller Monument in Wiesbaden was created by the German sculptor Joseph Uphues (1851–1911) and erected in 1905 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Friedrich Schiller .

The monument stands in front of the rear of the Hessian State Theater, designed as a show side with a driveway, and is part of the Warmer Damm landscape park . It shows Schiller as a young writer in a declamatory pose. A woman sits on the base of the monument as a symbol of tragedy .
