The Schlüter Compact 850 is a tractor series from Anton Schlüter Traktorwerke in Freising . It also includes the Compact 850V and Schlüter Compact 850V Spezial models . Four different series were produced, in which the suffix V after the model name indicated additional front-wheel drive and thus identified tractors with all-wheel drive .
The tractor was developed and offered by Schlüter parallel to the Schlüter Super 850 model, which is almost equally powerful . In contrast to this, it had a four-cylinder engine instead of a six-cylinder engine and a 400 kg lower curb weight . Schlüter planned to sell the tractor as a platform with a convertible top , the Schlüter Traktomobil cab or a hydraulically tiltable Schlüter cab. This is also where the unharmonious appearance of the best-selling Schlüter Traktomobil cab comes from.
The first models ran under the name Super 800 until 1971 , before Schlüter offered its smaller models as the Compact series. In the course of the production period from 1971 to 1983 there were four different types, with the engine power, the gross vehicle weight and also the maximum speed steadily increasing. The Compact 850V Super series is an exception . Only eight units were built, and they were the only series with a larger displacement engine. With the exception of the very first models, all vehicles delivered were equipped with the ZF T3102 transmission from August . It is a six-speed gearbox that has three forward gear ratios (the two field gears are equally fast, so that practically only 12 different speeds are available despite 18 gears forward) and a reverse group. A creeper was also available.
