Battle of the Vadimonian Lake (310 BC)

The first battle on the Vadimonian Lake took place around the year 310 BC. Chr. Between the Romans and the Etruscans instead.

In the Second Samnite War , the Etruscans were allied with the Samnites against Rome. In doing so, they threatened the northern flank of the Roman dominion. The battle finally broke out at Lake Vadimoni (near Falerii ). The Roman troops under the consul Quintus Fabius defeated the Etruscans in battle. The Etruscan city of Tarquinii then concluded a 40-year peace.

In 283 BC There was a second battle on the bank of the lake .
