Bombardment of Jerusalem by Jordanian artillery, 1948

The battle for Jerusalem took place in the course of the proclamation of the state of Israel by David Ben-Gurion and the subsequent declaration of war by the neighboring Arab states. It lasted from November 30, 1947, with the beginning of the Palestine War, to June 11, 1948. As a result, the city was divided. The Jerusalem Committee took care of the supplies for the Jewish population in the city .
