Elvis Manu (born August 13, 1993 in Dordrecht ) is a Netherlands- born Ghanaian football player who plays on the position of midfielder.

Career

Club career

Elvis Manu played in his youth for various clubs, including the youth department of Feyenoord Rotterdam . There he began his professional career in the Eredivisie in the 2011/12 season and made his league debut on February 26, 2012 against PSV Eindhoven . Much of the time he was under contract with Feyenoord Rotterdam, however, he spent as a loaner with other clubs. At the start of the 2012/13 season , he was loaned to the second division with four other players at Excelsior Rotterdam . Here he played 20 league games during the season and scored eight goals. For the 2013/14 season Manu returned to Feyenoord Rotterdam, but was awarded again on January 9, 2014, this time within the Eredivisie to SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden , where he completed 15 games by the end of the season and scored five goals. After being loaned out for two years, Manu returned to Feyenoord Rotterdam for the 2014/15 season , where he spent the rest of the season. In total, Manu played 32 games for Feyenoord Rotterdam and scored eight goals.

For the 2015/2016 season Elvis Manu moved to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Football League Championship , the second English division. Here he made his debut game on September 19, 2015 in a 0-0 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers . So far, Manu has had eight appearances for his club. On February 1, 2016, Manu was loaned to Huddersfield Town within the second division , where he received a fixed-term contract until May. Here he made his debut on February 6, 2016 in a 2-1 win over Preston North End .

For the 2017/18 season he was signed by the Turkish first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara . Manu scored four goals in 24 games this season and joined Akhisarspor in the summer of 2018 . He was part of the team that achieved the most important successes in the club's history by winning the Turkish Supercup 2018 and participating in the cup final in 2018/19 .

National team

In 2008 Manu made his international debut with the U16 juniors of the Netherlands. Until 2014, he played through the U-17 , U-19 , U-20 and U21 national team of the Netherlands. In total, he played 18 international matches for the Netherlands and scored two goals. However, since he became a Ghanaian citizen on June 24, 2015, he is now eligible to play for Ghana .
