Impact strength
The impact describes the ability of a material , impact energy and impact energy to absorb. The impact strength is calculated as the ratio of impact work and test specimen cross-section (unit of measurement kJ / m²).
The impact strength can be determined by different types of impact test (Charpy, Izod). In contrast to notched impact strength, the test specimen is not notched in impact strength .
