Bad mill

The Schlechtsmühle is the fifth mill in the Siebenmühlental . It is located on the Leinfelden-Echterdingen marker and is privately owned. The Schlechtsmühle (also called Schlechtenmühle) was first mentioned in the 15th century. It was named after the owner family "Schlecht". In 1867 it was rebuilt after a fire. Traditionally, the mill was used for grinding until 1993.

history

From 1797 the Schlechtsmühle was in the possession of the Schlecht family for almost 200 years, which had an effect on the naming of the mill, which was also known as Herbotsmühle. When Mathilde Schlecht (1879–1906) married Johannes Wolf (1877–1946), half of the mill became the property of the Wolf family. Wolf, shot by Polish Displaced Persons in an attack on the mill in April 1946 , left the Schlechtenmühle to his son Wilhelm Wolf (1906–1996), which he managed until a few years before his death. Wilhelm Wolf was therefore the last miller in the valley who ground grain according to old tradition.

Mill

The mill - built in 1867 - includes, in addition to the five-storey mill building, some outbuildings that are used for agricultural purposes. In 1926 the overshot mill wheel was replaced by a Francis turbine . In 1949 a spiral turbine was installed . The mill had a tanning and two grinding aisles and a semolina cleaning plant , before the Second World War roller mills were installed. The millstone came from Champagne . After the death of Wilhelm Wolf, the grinder was expanded in 2002 and handed over to a Romanian agricultural cooperative in Transylvania .

today

Today the former mill is privately owned, the Laible family runs livestock there, which is based on the Bioland guidelines.
