The Bodendorf castle was located in the same district of the municipality Katsdorf in District Perg .

history

In the princely land register around 1270, a "Chötzhler vicillus in Pottendorf" (vicillus = villager, manager of an estate) is named as Meier. Around 1284 the brothers Ulrich and Konrad von Kapellen are named as owners of Bodendorf. From 1314 Bodendorf is a noble seat under the owner Rueger der Pernauer . In 1409 the property came through the marriage of the widow of the last chaplain, Anna (née von Tybain), Hans von Potendorf. In 1437 Hand Flußhart became the owner of the castle and the manor. In 1635, Count Wenzel Reichardt von Sprinzenstein was given the estate of the Flußhart family after they had to leave the country because of their commitment to Protestantism . In 1729 Baron Anton von Riesenfels bought the now vacant Bodendorf estate. In 1774 this was acquired by Count Christoph von Türheim. In 1801 the daughter of the Türheims, Maria Franziska, and her husband, Count Michael Max Althan, moved the seat of the property that was combined with Hagenberg to Hagenberg and Bodendorf. The castle was demolished in 1805. In 1884 the aristocratic property was deleted from the country table.

The preserved Meierhof ( Erbhof Moar) has been owned by the Faltlhansl family ever since.

Bodendorf Castle today

Of the castle, as can be seen in the engraving by Georg Matthäus Vischer from 1674, only the fountain in the castle courtyard is left. The construction of the fountain has come off, but the fountain itself still provides the water for the courtyard.

In addition, the Meierhof, which has been converted into a modern business, has been preserved. An entrance gate (year 1525) and an adjacent window are original; the right part has been rebuilt. In the farm there is also a room with a barrel vault that has been converted into a living room. The stones of a presumably earlier wine cellar (the name "Weinberg" is still used as a field name) were used for a patio in front of the Meierhof. The adjacent farm buildings have been rebuilt after several fires.

The building on the right (Ernst Denkmayr printing works) is known as the castle tavern.
