Doubrava Castle (Aš)
Doubrava Castle is a castle in Doubrava in the Czech Republic .
Doubrava used to be called Grün and is now part of the town of Aš in Okres Cheb .
The von Zedtwitz family , who were already well-off in the Ascher Ländchen , acquired the property from the von Neuberg family . The beginnings of the castle go back to a manor of the von Zedtwitz family, which around 1600 initially had the character of an agricultural property . In 1783 it was rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style. The coat of arms above the entrance with the year 1760 was taken from Kopaniny Castle . The castle served as a restaurant for a time, but it has been closed since at least 2016. The house and the surrounding property look neglected and damaged. Sometimes two horses graze around the house (as of August 2017)
