The seventeenth season of the German soap opera Schloss Einstein for children and young people comprises 26 episodes (episodes 793–818).
As part of the anniversary of the 800th episode, the special episode "Director Berger and the Chief Monster" was shown a week before it was broadcast, and was included in the episode count as part of the 26 episodes of the 17th season. However, since it is technically isolated and interrupts the plot of episode 799, it is officially counted as episode 818 (the last episode of the season). This information is also used in this article , although it is purely numerically incorrect.
Due to the shortening of this season, a school year will be temporarily suspended for the first time during the broadcast. Even at the beginning of the series, the individual seasons did not match the respective school years told, but these were broadcast in direct succession. However, there is a six-month break between season 17, which ends in June 2014, and the 18th round, which interrupts the current school year during the Christmas holidays and resumes from January 2015 at this point. Theoretically it would have been possible to tell a shortened year, but due to the weather conditions, the autumn and winter episodes would have had to be rotated parallel to the backwards-produced summer and spring episodes, which entailed an enormous logistical effort for the production team - such as in Areas of costume and cut - would have meant that the entire plot of the season and the books for it should have been completed in summer 2013.
