Broken Bow is a city in McCurtain County in the US state of Oklahoma . Almost 4,100 people live in an area of over 13 square kilometers.
Broken Bow is part of the Ark-La-Tex socio-economic region , which includes parts of the four states of Arkansas , Louisiana , Oklahoma, and Texas .

Broken Bow is located in the southeastern state of Oklahoma in the southern United States, about 25 kilometers from the eastern border with Arkansas and 30 kilometers from the southern border with Texas. There are nature reserves in the north and south of the city.
Nearby cities include Idabel (8 km south), Eagletown (13 km east), Garvin (17 km southwest), Wright City (22 km west) and De Queen (35 km east). The next larger city with around 1.2 million inhabitants is Dallas, more than 250 kilometers southwest .

history
The present urban area was once part of the large settlement areas of the Choctaw Indians. Towards the end of the 19th century a sawmill was built around which the town was built. Ten years after she was admitted to the state in 1911, Broken Bow had residents by 1983.

US Highway 70 runs from the south to the east of the city and runs for over 3800 kilometers from Arizona in the west to North Carolina in the east. US Highway 259 also runs through the city in a north -south direction, leading to Heavener in the north and Nacogdoches in the south . Interstate 30 runs about 70 kilometers south of the city .
Demographics
The 2010 census showed a population of 4120 people, divided between 1599 households and 1036 families. The population density was 317 people per square kilometer. 61.8% of the population were white, 18.5% American Indian, 8.3% black and 0.6% Asian. 3.9% were of a different ethnicity, 6.8% had two or more races, and 5.32% were Hispanics or Latin American of any ethnicity. The median age was 35 and the per capita income was nearly $ 14,500, which means nearly 47% of the population lived below the poverty line.
