Kendeffy Castle is located in Transylvania in the Hunedoara district in the Romanian municipality of Sântămăria-Orlea .

history

The listed castle was built in 1782 by the family of the Counts Kendeffy de Malomvís (Malomhaz), who originally had the name Cândea (also Cândeşti ). The palace park was only laid out in the 19th century. In 1946 the property was nationalized as part of the agrarian reform. The castle on DJ 686 county road has been used as a hotel since 1984.
