Mandorf Castle (2006)

Mandorf Castle is located in the village of the same name in the municipality of Kötschach-Mauthen in Carinthia. The complex was built by Hans Mandorfer, the captain of Ortenburg , and appears for the first time in the documents in 1521. The castle has been owned by the Pichler-Mandorf family since 1802 and is now used as a seminar center.

The castle is a three-storey late Gothic building over a rectangular floor plan with a renewed hipped roof . The eight-axis southern front is marked 1520 above the portal. The late Gothic chamfered window frames are made of red Lasa sandstone . On the northern front there is a late Gothic pointed arched portal in red sandstone with profiled walls. The vestibule is vaulted with a net ridge and has four coats of arms painted on the walls from the mid-16th century.
