The Neusiedl Castle is in the borough Neusiedl am See in Neusiedl am See in Burgenland . The former Berger barracks is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

  • Berger barracks: The barracks were built from 1853 to 1856 as a Hungarian cavalry barracks. The army barracks were taken out of use in 2015 and sold.
  • Neusiedl Castle: From 2017 to the end of 2018, the former barracks will be converted into a residential complex with 106 apartments and is called Neusiedl Castle.

architecture

The mighty square with an arcade courtyard was built on two floors. The main front forms a three-axis, gable-crowned central projection with a lettering in the triangular gable. Historically common materials such as lime plaster were used in relation to monuments , and box windows were also installed again, as in the past .
