Opeka Castle
The Opeka Castle (Croatian: Dvorac Opeka ) is located in northern Croatia , in the municipality of Vinica , about 15 kilometers west of the city of Varaždin .
It is surrounded by the large and plentiful arboretum founded in 1860 by Count Marko of Bombelles . The castle itself was built in the second half of the 17th century in the baroque style. Its owners at the time were members of the important Croatian noble family Keglević .
The castle was later also owned by the Counts of Nadasdy , Drašković of Trakošćan and the aforementioned Bombelles (until 1945).
Today Opeka is in a bad, weathered condition and is waiting for restoration .
