history

The Prankerhof Palace was originally built as a noble farm by Hans Harrer and his wife Barbara on a property acquired in 1590. The court was called "Adelsbühel". In 1610 it was bought by Anna Ruep von Pfeilberg. Since she owed Jonas von Wilfersdorf , her sons had the property valued. In 1616, Wilfersdorf heirs finally seized the property, after which it came into the possession of Hans Töller. From this it came in 1617 through the noble duke right to Heinrich Freiherr von Logau. Since the von Logau were Protestant, they had to leave Styria in 1629; then the property was acquired by Hans Friedrich Freiherr von Pranckh. A large part of the purchase money remained as a mortgage . The von Logaus initially managed to get the property back into their possession by exchanging goods, but in 1637 they had to sell it to the Order of St. John in Fürstenfeld due to high debts .

In 1640 Hans Friedrich von Pranckh's wife was able to buy back the noble seat. In the years that followed, legal disputes arose over the repayment of the mortgage paid in 1629. The von Pranckh family owned the property until 1775 , when it was placed under compulsory administration. In 1784 it passed to Franz Xaver Feldbacher, and in 1792 to Alois Graf Trautmannsdorf. After 1798 there were frequent changes of ownership before the castle was demolished. The former fields were built and tenement houses were built on the site of the castle.
