Welsbach Castle is a building built at the end of the 19th century in the municipality of Mölbling in Carinthia .

The castle is located on the southern slope of the Osselitzenberg in the Rotte Rastenfeld north of the Rastenfeld castle . It is surrounded by a large park with notable outbuildings such as a nursery and an orangery . The castle was built for the industrialist Carl Auer von Welsbach between 1898 and 1900 according to plans by Anton and Josef Bierbaum. In its place stood the Villa Marienhof, which last belonged to the Viennese operetta singer Marie Geistinger . In 1893 she sold the property that had served her as a summer retreat to Auer. He lived and died in the castle in 1929. It is still in the possession of his descendants today.

The castle is one in late historic , modeled after the French city of palaces of the Renaissance designed, two-storey building with sechsachsigem central part and four-axle wings with tower-like corner projections . The facade of the elongated building is strongly structured, the protruding corners of the building are emphasized by rusting . The floors are visually separated by a strong cornice , the large windows are framed in stone.

The original, representative furnishings (staircase, tiled stoves, floors and doors) have been preserved almost unchanged.
