The Bad Homburg Palace Park is a park located below Bad Homburg Palace in the city center of Bad Homburg . The 13 hectare castle park is the part of what was originally a much larger garden landscape , the Landgravial Gardens , which is preserved today .
history
The beginnings of the castle park can be traced back to the 15th century . A garden in connection with the castle at that time is mentioned for the first time in 1441. No details are known about this medieval garden.
From 1680 Landgrave Friedrich II had a baroque garden laid out around the palace. The structure of a baroque garden is only preserved in individual parts today, as it was transformed into an English landscape garden from the second half of the 18th century .
