The Schlossteich is a listed pond in Ballenstedt in Saxony-Anhalt .
The Kunstteich lies west of the castle Ballenstedt in Castle Park Ballenstedt . On the north side of the pond is a 130-meter-long dam that dams the water of a stream. The pond itself reaches a length of up to 170 meters with a width of up to 130 meters. There is a small island in the western part of the pond.
The Selketalstieg leads along directly to the east and north of the pond .
In 2005 the dam was renovated. Nevertheless, problems subsequently arose with the dam. In 2016 an eruption broke out from the back of the embankment that had to be repaired. In 2017, a hole about one meter deep appeared on the dam so that the path along it had to be closed. Further renovation of the dam is planned.
The artificial pond is listed in the local monument register under registration number 107 25039 as a monument .
