To swallow
Swallowing is:
- a complex sequence of movements of many muscles in the mouth, pharynx and throat area, which, among other things, serves to consume food and fluids, see swallowing act
- a slang term for
- an ecstasy abuse
- a variant of fellatio
In a figurative sense, it is used to express that someone has to accept a given condition for better or worse ( swallow a toad ) and for certain reasons does not protest against it ( swallow the protest ).
One sip is:
- an indefinite quantity of liquids (e.g. a sip of water )
- in some regions the name for schnapps
- a comedy by the German Nobel Prize winner for literature Gerhart Hauptmann, see Schluck and Jau
Schluck is the family name of:
- Karl-Heinz Volkmann-Schluck (1914–1981), German philosopher
