As Schmidlinsches house was referred a magnificent baroque house on Vienna Stock im Eisen-Platz, which was demolished in the late 19th century.

The building included in Salomon Kleiner's topographical Viennese compilation from 1733 "True and accurate illustration ..." impressed with its height and the mighty coat of arms of the Schmidlin family, who owned the house from 1714 to 1759. One of the subsequent owners was the MP in the manor, actor and eccentric Leopold Graf Lazansky (1854-1891). After his death, the house was acquired by auction in 1893 by the municipality of Vienna, which had the house demolished in 1895 to expand the passage for traffic reasons. The art historian and baroque expert Albert Ilg pointed out at the time that the city administration, as the owner, should “preserve this first-rate art-historical ornament from old Vienna.” Ilg called the demolition a “barbarism, born out of the business spirit that the 18-year tax exemption for and new buildings ". A late historical building by the architect Alexander von Wielemans took the place of Schmidlin's house in 1897 .
