The Schmiedengassbrunnen is a fountain in the city of Solothurn at the Schmiedengasse house no.20.

history

The fountain was first mentioned as "Stöckhlin-Brunne" in 1724, with the same name in the first fountain book. According to the inscription on the well itself, today's fountain was built in 1796.

description

The wall fountain made of Solothurn limestone is built into the courtyard wall south of the house. It has two rectangular basins on the side and a middle, slightly raised fountain bowl . The rear wall is designed like a triumphal arch and has three niches. The narrow, middle niche contains the fountain tube. Above it is the date of construction 1796.
