Schmollers Jahrbuch - Journal of Contextual Economics is an English-language, refereed journal for economics and social sciences . It has been edited by Nils Goldschmidt ( University of Siegen ), Erik Grimmer-Solem ( Wesleyan University ) and Joachim Zweynert ( University of Witten-Herdecke ) since 2016 .

Following on from the intention of the namesake Gustav von Schmoller , the magazine sees itself as a forum for economic and social science research under its current editorship, which understands economic activity in its political, social, ecological and cultural embedding - hence the subtitle Journal of Contextual Economics .

The magazine appears quarterly. A special issue with articles on a selected topic is published once a year. In 2016, based on Schmoller's article from 1881, Die Gerechtigkeit in der Volkswirthschaft, a series of essays on the same topic will appear.
