Snow hardness

As snow hardness , the resistance is called, which applies snow against a penetrating object. Due to the weather , the snowpack is subject to constant change. At very low temperatures, snow usually falls in the form of powder snow ; the snow is compressed through heating and re-freezing, which also affects the hardness of the snow. The snow hardness is divided into 6 categories: very soft, soft, medium hard, hard, very hard and ice. The characterization takes place here by means of the force in Newtons and an approximate ramming resistance.
