The Hamburg Harbor is a bay on the northwest coast of Anvers Island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It is located immediately south of Bonnier Point .
The bay was discovered, but not completely mapped, during the Antarctic voyage of the German polar explorer Eduard Dallmann with the Groenland (1873–1874). Dallmann named it after the city of Hamburg , the home port of his ship. A more precise mapping of the bay took place during the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of the polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot .
