Cutting spring

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A cutting spring (also known as a vaccine spring) is a blade that, when inserted into a pen holder , turns it into a cutting tool for paper, leather or the like. In the 21st century, the cutting pen is still verifiably a tool, but it is only rarely used.

Inoculation pen in the 21st century

The name "pen" is a bit misleading because it is not actually a pen, it can be explained by a certain similarity to the appearance and use of the pen in the pen. Originally the blade was used as an inoculation pen; The cutting pen is or was later used in the bookbinding trade, for trimming photos, for handicrafts or in model making. It allows through its lanceolate tapering head relatively accurate and convenient for work than those with snap- fitted cutter or Cutters . However, the disadvantage compared to the snap-off knives are comparatively higher costs, since the cutting spring is more complex and consequently either has to be re-ground or replaced when it is stumped.
