Scholastika is a district of Achenkirch on the north bank of the Achensee in Tyrol . In addition to the Achenseehof lido , it is the only part of the municipality that is directly on the lake.

The origin was a customs house around 1495, which was important for the salt trade in the Middle Ages, which took place along the route of today's Achenseestraße (at that time a mule track) between the salt pans of Hall in Tirol and Munich.

The customs station later became an inn, which was converted by Matthäus Diechtl into a grand hotel in neo-Gothic style with bay windows and turrets in 1880 ; there was a chapel next to it. The shape of the complex is conveyed from historical illustrations. The name of the hotel goes back to the first names of two innkeepers in the 19th century - presumably inspired by the Benedictine Scholastika von Nursia , who was venerated at Lake Achensee, which belonged to the Benedictine abbey of St. Georgenberg .

The Grand Hotel burned down in 1913. A restored part is now used for tour groups, events and youth groups, including self-catering. Scholastika still has its own shipping pier with a promenade, café and kiosk.

In the sea bay northwest of the ship landing stage, which also belongs to the district, there is another hotel from 1885 with a restaurant and several smaller guest houses.
