Screw (figure)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A screw is the rotation of an artist or a gymnast in a jump around its own longitudinal axis.

This term is used in various sports: Diving, springboard and platform diving , trampolining , gymnastics , vaulting , aerobatics , etc.

The screw can also be used in combination with other figures, e.g. B. Somersault with screw. In the performance area in particular, it has become common practice to speak of a screw somersault as a screw. In contrast to this, the screw is then called a (extension jump) full turn or foot jump screw.
