ISO 7200

The standard EN ISO 7200 governs the design of title blocks (colloquially: drawing heads ) on technical drawings . It was passed in May 2004 and replaces the previously valid DIN 6771-1 in Germany as the DIN standard DIN EN ISO 7200 .

content

Each technical drawing has a title block. It is located on the lower right-hand side of the drawing area, for A4-format drawings below the drawing area. If the drawing carrier has been folded according to DIN 824, the text field at the lower edge of the sheet should be legible (see EN ISO 5457 , which regulates the division of the drawing carrier). In contrast to the withdrawn DIN 6771-1, a large part of the regulations have been omitted or converted into mere recommendations, so that the text fields can now be adapted much better to individual needs. But there were also some changes, such as the width.

The most important differences to DIN 6771-1 are:

  • Width 180 mm
  • Any height
  • Only eight mandatory fields:
  1. Legal owner (e.g. company)
  2. Part number
  3. Issue date
  4. Section / sheet number
  5. title
  6. Approver
  7. Creator
  8. Document Type
  • additional fields optional
  • Any division, any number of lines
  • Any column width, only recommended number of characters

This means that the title block on A4 drawings fits exactly into the lower area of the drawing area, which is 180 mm wide. On larger formats, the text field is placed in the lower right corner of the drawing area, although you have to note that this may only be done in landscape format.

The drawing area is delimited by a thick solid line at a distance of 10 mm (20 mm on the left side) from the edge.
