Schubarkol Komir ( Russian Шубарколь комир , Kazakh Шұбаркөлкөмір Schubarkölkömir ) is one of the largest coal mining companies in Kazakhstan . The headquarters of the company, which was founded in 1985, is in Karagandy .
The creation of Schubarkol Komir goes back to the opening of the Schubarkol coal mine in Karagandy in 1985. In 1996 the joint stock company Schubarkol Komir was founded. On October 31, 2008, the company was listed on the Kazakh Stock Exchange .
Today, 75 percent of the shares are owned by Eurasian Natural Resources and the remaining 25 percent by its subsidiary Kazchrome .
