The SAL School for Applied Linguistics is a private school in Zurich that offers various educational and training courses: journalism / corporate publishing , translation, adult education / language teaching DaF , FIDE certification, SVEB certificate, federal. Qualification (preparation only) Instructor, proofreading, Spanish course instructor, literary writing and script writing.

The study of journalism / corporate publishing, translation and adult education / language teaching DaF can be completed every three years, which makes it possible to enter existing classes in every semester. The organization of the study allows the SAL to be completed part-time. In addition, most courses can be booked individually as individual training.

history

The School of Applied Linguistics was founded in 1969 by Dr. Paul Bänziger and supported by the Foundation for Applied Linguistics until 2017. In 2017 the HDS Handels- und Dolmetscherschule St. Gallen AG took over the teaching operations of SAL and continues to run it under the same name as the department of HDS. The management was held by Dr. Paul Bänziger (1969 to 2000), Suzanne Bänziger (2000–2013), Markus Linder (2013 to 2017), Stefan Großöhmigen and Hans-Jörg Grämiger (from 2017). SAL was recognized as a higher technical school by the location canton of Zurich in 2000 . Since 2004, the “Higher Technical School” category has been provided in Switzerland for certain training courses in the Vocational Training Act - SAL did not offer these training courses.
