School preparatory institution

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The school preparatory facility (SVE) is an educational support facility in Bavaria . The basis for this is laid in Article 22 of the Bavarian Law on Education and Instruction (BayEUG). According to this, the school preparatory facility is intended for children who are not yet of school age and have special educational needs.

There are preparatory institutions for different orientations (e.g. the ICP Munich Luise Kiesselbach School for physical and motor development, the Prof. Otto Speck School for emotional and social development or the Hearing Support Center in Munich). The children are introduced to the daily lessons in small groups.

The preparatory school is usually visited for one school year. The aim is for the child to be able to go to regular school after this year. Classes only take place in the morning. Afterwards there is often care in a special needs day care center .

criticism

The school preparatory institution has been criticized for not being an integrative institution, but for being purely special-educational. Not every school preparatory facility is assigned a special needs day care center.
