Schura Niedersachsen is the nickname of the "Landesverband der Muslime in Niedersachsen eV", which seeks to represent the Lower Saxony Muslims as a registered association. According to its own information, the Schura Niedersachsen has 92 member organizations.

history

Schura Niedersachsen was founded to enable Muslims to take Islamic religious instruction in Lower Saxony. In the summer of 2001, a “Working Group on Islamic Religious Education” was formed as a forerunner for the Schura Niedersachsen, which was founded in 2002 as the regional association of Muslims in Lower Saxony.

Together with the umbrella organization “ DITIB Niedersachsen und Bremen eV”, Schura Niedersachsen sends two representatives each to the “Advisory Board for Islamic Religious Education in Lower Saxony”, the contact person for the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs in religious matters. The advisory board participates in the development of curricula and grants state teachers the teaching permit (ijaza). The current chairman is Recep Bilgen, a member of the Milli Görüs Islamic community monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution .
