Protection goals are statements or definitions about a level of security that should be achieved as a minimum.

The determination of the protection goal is the political decision of the council as to the quality of the danger defense by the fire brigade in the community.

When determining the protection goal, the quality criteria must be differentiated according to the type of use,

  • in what percentage of cases (degree of target achievement)

The protection goal should be the actual performance, e.g. B. define that of an extinguishing system. With its requirements, it defines, among other things, the planning basis for the technology required from it. As a result, protection goals state that certain minimum security levels should be maintained through various types of measures.

Examples of protection goal definitions

  • The spread of fire from an affected object must be effectively prevented for a certain period of time (e.g. the fire brigade's emergency response ) so that consequential damage to objects not affected by the fire is excluded.
  • A fire in a defined sub-area of ​​an object must be extinguished in such a way that no high and proportionate property damage occurs.
