Protection zone

The term protection zone can refer to different situations:

• the protection zones declared by the United Nations during the Yugoslav wars from 1991 to 1995, see UN protection zone
• comparable protection zones in other conflict areas, such as Nicosia Airport
• the protection zones established in the Slovak Republic in 1939, within which there were German military installations, see German-Slovak Protection Zone Statute

• Ecological protection zones, see, among others, marine protected areas , protected areas in nature and landscape protection
• Defined empty area for logos
• in Austria the security police protection of areas in which criminal activities are likely; see protection zone (Security Police Act)
