Rick Kiefer

Richard "Rick" Kiefer (born May 24, 1939 in Cleveland ) is an American jazz trumpeter who worked in Germany for a long time.

Kiefer first played with Buddy Morrow , Benny Goodman and Urbie Green in 1957 , before joining Maynard Ferguson's big band that same year , where he stayed until 1963. In 1964 he appeared at the Berlin Jazz Festival and was then brought in by Max Greger's orchestra. In 1968 he played at the Frankfurt Jazz Festival . At the end of the 1960s he moved from Greger to Cologne with the Kurt Edelhagen Orchestra . In the coming years, he also worked with James Last and the Rhythm Combination & Brass by Peter Herbolzheimer before the late 1970s, a member of the WDR Big Band was. He was also involved in albums by the Kenny Clarke / Francy Boland Big Band , Don Menza and with Sigi Schwab .
