The Schwapp sports and fun pool (formerly: Spreeschwimmhalle ) is a bathing and swimming facility in the Fürstenwalder Kosmonautenviertel . It opened in 1971 and was fundamentally renewed and expanded in the 1990s.
history
The Spreeschwimmhalle is in close connection with the neighboring paintworks, the manager of which campaigned for the construction of a swimming pool in the sponsorship of the paintworks from the late 1960s. Previously there was an outdoor pool on the site of today's fun pool, which was closed after the swimming pool opened. In 1971 the Fürstenwalde (Spree) indoor swimming pool was opened to the city's population. The swimming pool was a meeting point for many bathers, swimming students and competitive swimmers. Until the renovation in 1997, there was an official apartment in the building of the swimming pool, in which the head of the pool lived.
In 1991, the Spreeschwimmhalle was returned to the city of Fürstenwalde, which extensively renovated it and now operates Fürstenwalde sports and leisure facilities under its own municipal operation. During the renovation of the swimming pool, the pools were shortened and the sports pool was supplemented by a fun pool and a newly renovated sauna area. In 1997 the swimming pool was given the new name Schwapp . Since it was renamed, the motto of the swimming pool has been Alles WASSER wollt!
In 2015 the Schwapp was awarded the Golden Umberto of the comedy show Circus HalliGalli . An entire edition of the program with the Umberto handover was recorded in the swimming pool. In the run-up to the action, the Schwapps server and internet lines had completely collapsed due to overload, as too many viewers wanted to access the advertising video of the bathroom, which was mentioned humorous earlier in the program.

The swimming pool consists of a fun pool and a sports pool as well as a sauna and fitness area. The sports pool consists of a 25-meter pool for swimmers and a pool for non-swimmers. There is a wide selection of slides in the water park and a large outdoor area. Since 2014, in addition to the actual swimming pool, the site has also included a tennis and mini golf area.
