The BSG Pneumant Fürstenwalde eV is the second largest sports club in the state of Brandenburg . 2,770 members are active in its 26 departments. The main focus of Pneumant is popular sport . In addition, BSG Pneumant is also involved in the social field. With its youth club "Südclub", the association operates a popular meeting place for children and young people that is established in Fürstenwalde. Karin Lehmann has been the head of the sports club as chairman of the board since 2009.

The club's soccer department took part in the FDGB Cup of the German Football Association in the 1950s .

history

On November 2, 1949, the company sports association "Deka Ketschendorf" was founded with the sections football, handball and table tennis chaired by Max Fenner. In 1951 the name was changed to BSG Chemie Fürstenwalde. The sports field on Tränkeweg was inaugurated and the sailing section was founded. In 1970 the club after Fürstenwalder tire manufacturer was Pneumant in BSG Pneumant renamed Fürstenwalde.

1990 was probably the most eventful year in the sports history of the BSG. The BSG Pneumant disintegrated into individual associations based on the recommendation of the tire factory. In other words, the material and cost-intensive sections were founded as independent associations. So from the BSG Pneumant u. a. the following sports clubs: FSV Wacker Fürstenwalde (now FSV Union Fürstenwalde ); RSC 90 Fürstenwalde, Fürstenwalde table tennis club, Fürstenwalde wrestling and gymnastics club, Fürstenwalde chess club, Fürstenwalde rowing club, Saarow sailing club on Werl. What remained were some popular sports groups, which on June 26, 1990 in the Karl-Marx-Haus the BSG Pneumant Fürstenwalde e. V. founded. The "House of Tire Workers", the "Pneumant Sport Forum" and the "Hill" were sold. The club lost its last remaining sports facilities. In 1994 the BSG took over the sponsorship of the "Südclub". Since 1998 the BSG has been operating the newly built 3-field sports and multi-purpose hall, better known as the "Pneumant sports hall". Since 2003, the BSG has organized the city's sporting highlight, "The Füwa Race" - the dragon boat race - annually in Fürstenwalde. In 2011, the new PneumantSportForum was inaugurated next to the Pneumant sports hall, which has been operated by BSG Pneumant since then.

Departments

The association currently offers badminton, disabled sports, archery, bowling, dragon boat, family sports, football, gymnastics, handball, inline hockey, karate, day-care sports, children's sports, children's athletics, running groups, mini golf, Nordic sports, cycling, rehabilitation Sports, wrestling and athletics, chess, swimming, silat, dancing, table tennis, gymnastics, hiking, water polo, water aerobics and volleyball.

volleyball

The first men's team is currently playing in the Brandenburg League. A second men's team is playing in the national class south this season. There is also a 3rd team as well as a mixed and various youth teams. In the individual mixed teams, too, the focus is on having fun. There are different age-specific teams here.

Cycling

Pneumant offers a traditional cycling department, which after 1990 initially became RSC 90 Fürstenwalde. The department produced many professional cyclists (e.g. Mathias Stumpf ). There is a cycling group between the Gerhard Goßmann primary school and Pneumant.

Canoe dragon boat

The BSG Pneumant is a pioneer of dragon boat sport in Brandenburg. Currently, the teams Pneumant Dragon Fürstenwalde , Pneumant SpreeCoyoten Fürstenwalde , Race Tire Pits and the youth team Pneumant Little Dragon drive in the dragon boat department . The association is a member of the German Canoe Association . The currently (as of 2016) most successful Pneumant dragon boat team, the Pneumant SpreeCoyoten , won medals several times at the Joint German Dragon Boat Championships .

Soccer

From 1953, the BSG played for many years in the Frankfurt district league . The greatest success here was the runner-up in the 1961/62 season, with which they only just missed promotion to the 2nd GDR League . In the 1954/55 season qualified for the FDGB Cup , in which the BSG was defeated by BSG Motor Süd Brandenburg in the first round . In 1958 they failed in the second qualifying round at SC Lichtenberg 47 . In 1990, the football department split off as FSV Wacker Fürstenwalde , which in 2002 merged with the FSV Union Fürstenwalde , which currently plays in the Oberliga Nordost .

For some time now, Pneumant has been participating in games again with its own football teams. In the first season, the men's team also made it to the regional league and in 2018 to the national class east. There are also 2 futsal groups and an F and D youth team. From summer 2015 there will be a C, E youth and AG35 team.
